Maker Faire Bilbao will return in 2022 on its tenth anniversary.

Since its first edition in 2013, Bilbao Maker Faire has been working to bring the latest international technological avant-garde closer to the local community networks and to be an engine of positive social change through active, intersectional and inclusive participation. In 2022, the Festival will maintain the programming of professional workshops, publication and interventions and activities for all audiences, in a format extended in November and December.

Halfway between the scientific fair and the art festival, the Maker Faire Festival is a kind of event held in more than 200 cities across the globe. This gathers local, national and international projects on digital culture and the creative use of technologies.

As in previous editions, this year Espacio Open has organised the Festival. We are an ecosystem of creative projects located in the Ribera de Deusto. Since 2009 we have been located on the island of Zorrotzaurre, at the Old Biscuit Factory (Artiach Factory) in Bilbao, in an ecosystem that works at the intersection between contemporary culture, technology and social issues.
